Sustainable Fashion at its Finest: Doucette*

Who says that high-end fashion can't be eco-friendly and fabulous at the same time? Doucette*, the new underground line from Stephanie Ann Doucette, combines truth and longevity in each of its custom pieces. The timeless collection practices environmental and social responsibility by manufacturing entirely out of New York City's Garment District. By using pre-existing fabrics, Doucette* always keeps it carbon "stiletto" print in check. Stephanie has recently launched her Holiday 2012 collection that consists of beautifully made dresses, coats, and separates. Check out some of the gorgeous editorial shots below from the Holiday 2012 shoot. And also make sure to take a look at the website, Doucette*. We are loving the Kiwi Bonnie dress on the home page! So glamorous. Doucette* is definitely one to watch, and we can't wait to see more from this sustainable fashion line.

With the Kentucky Derby only a day away, everyone has been buzzing about what to expect from the most important aspect of the event...the hats, duh! The Derby is known for its fashion and extravagant head accessories. Big, small, classic, feathered, wide-brimmed...you name it, the Derby has it. The spectacle of hats has become a tradition at the race. And the best part is there are no rules when it comes to choosing what Derby hat you will rock the day of the event. We say the bigger, the better;) What style would y'all choose??

DIY: Graduation Cap

My graduation cap is complete! So excited with how it turned out. Yes, it's extremely sparkly and a bit obnoxious, but that's just how I like it;) I have the good 'ole Lone Star State on there to represent where I come from/where my home will always be, then there's "NYC" to represent where I will move after graduation to start living my dream, and I couldn't forget those red, glittery lips to represent my and my sis's future brand. Just wanted to share it with y'all!

Trend Alert: Ombre Lips

Ok so yes, we have an obsession with a great, bold lip. Hence why we are currently LOVING this new trend. Not only does mixing and blending two colors add some spice to your look, it creates the illusion of a fuller lip as well. And who doesn't want a more luscious pout??

There are multiple ways to create this look. You can either start by adding the lighter shade to your inner lip, then apply the darker shade to the outer rim and blend accordingly. Or you can go for the dramatic, dark upper lip that gradually blends to the lighter shade on the bottom half.

As far as colors go, stick with similar shades for a more simple effect. But if you really want to turn some heads, go for bold, contrasting colors like a plum and coral. The ombre lip is the "it" trend for Summer, and we can't wait to try it out! Who's with us??

Mr. Brad Goreski

Yes, ladies and gentlemen I had the privilege of meeting Brad Goreski yesterday. The fabulous, fashion stylist arrived in Dallas to have a book signing at Brooks Brothers in the West Village area in downtown Dallas. The setting was immaculate yet casual as could be with his signature bow ties accenting the place. They even handed out decorated bow tie cookies...how amaze! Meeting one of your idols is always a shock, and meeting Brad Goreski was certainly one of the most surreal moments of my life. We loved him before, and now even more so (if that's even possible) with his friendly, and amazingly fab, personality in person. If you have yet to pick up a copy of his book, "Born to Be Brad", do so ASAP and have fun reading about fashion, life and everything chic. WE LOVE YOU BRAD!

Gettin' Leggy!

It's that time of year ladies...time to bust out the shorts! But who says you have to wear any old pair of shorts when the temps start to rise? Whether they are high-waisted, lace, belted, loose-fitted, metallic or structured, shorts come in all kinds of different styles, textures and colors. With the plethora of options you can choose from, your Spring/Summer wardrobe will be anything but boring. You can rock your favorite pair with strappy sandals, cute flats or even some fun wedges to make your legs look extra long. And just remember, if you're going to wear shorts with a bold print or some that have a lot of detailing, try to keep your top half clean and simple. You don't want to distract from those killer gams, right?;)
